Activities during April 2014 at Woodlands and Hill Brow
April has been another very busy month, with our residents celebrating Easter and St George’s Day. Here are just some of the activities our residents have been up to;
On 4th April Woodlands residents enjoyed a trip into Fleet Town. Our residents had a leisurely walk around the town for a spot of shopping, finishing off with a nice cup of tea in their favourite Fleet café.
Throughout the month of April residents have also been busy making Easter decorations and decorating Easter biscuits. Residents celebrated Easter Sunday with an Easter Bonnet Tea Party. The residents made some really wonderful bonnets and couldn’t wait to show off their creations.
In April residents had the pleasure of enjoying music from Hospitals, and Easter songs from the Kings Singers.
On 23rd April our residents celebrated St Georges Day with an afternoon Tea Party. Residents had been busy making cakes for St. George’s Day and they had a good old fashioned sing-song. It was a great fun filled afternoon, with lots of smiles, laughter, singing and dancing. We were also treated to some impromptu solo singing by Aimi who is one of our care staff and who also sings in Fleet Rock Choir. The residents specially requested her to sing for them so we’d like to say a big thank you!
Residents enjoyed a trip to Bagshot Lea Garden Centre on 25th April; they loved seeing all the rabbits, snakes, tortoises and especially the tropical fish. After choosing some tomato plants for our vegetable garden they finished off with large cup of hot chocolate.
On 30th April residents from Woodlands and Hillbrow ventured out together on a ride through the countryside on a wonderful sunny day to Ellisfield, where they enjoyed seeing the incredible mass of bluebells. It truly was an impressive sight.
