Commendation for exceptional service at Hill Brow
Helen Wolff, Manager of Hill Brow in Farnham, has been awarded a special Commendation for saving the life of a visitor.
Gloria Shennan, who lives in Fleet, was visiting a friend at the home when she collapsed. Helen carried out CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) until a paramedic was able to attend. Having stabilised the patient, Gloria was then taken to hospital for checks.
Helen’s quick thinking and prompt assessment of the situation enabled her to carry out her first aid training calmly and efficiently. The residents, who were enjoying a morning’s activities, had been unaware of the drama unfolding.
Alison Lee, the owner, cited the Commendation to all the residents and staff at the home and presented Helen with flowers and a certificate to mark the occasion. She said that what Helen had done was exceptional and that she is a credit to the company and we are all proud to know she is a member of the staff.
Gloria Shennan made a surprise presentation of her own, having just come out of hospital. She thanked Helen not only for saving her life but for all she does for the residents at Hill Brow. As a regular visitor to the home, she knows just what the staff do to make the home a happy place to be. She presented Helen with flowers and chocolates in appreciation.
