GARDEN PARTY – 13 June 2010

WOODLANDS GARDEN PARTY

Woodlands hosted our annual charity Garden Party again this year on Sunday 13th June and raised a record breaking £3464.00 for two local charities.

Attended by many friends and families of the residents and local supporters, including James Arbuthnot MP, the afternoon was a great success with over 300 guests.  Entertainment for the residents included the Crondall Bell Ringers and the Dance Focus Academy.  For the children throwing the wet sponge proved popular as did the face painting, bouncy castle, petting sheep and lots more.

Generous donations for the auction ensured its success again this year and children were encouraged to join in to bid for some of the items too.
Alison Lee, the owner, said she was delighted to welcome so many guests and gave a big thank you to everyone who  had contributed to the afternoon.

The occasion was a perfect opportunity to make a presentation to Diana Whiteway who has retired after 23 years.  Diana joined Woodlands after her family had grown up and became a valuable and popular member of the staff working as a Care Assistant and latterly as the Cook.
