Garden Party 09

The sun shone, the guests arrived and the party began! We held our annual charity fund raising Garden Party on Saturday 27th June, which raised over £3,500.

Held at Woodlands this year, one of the guests was James Arbuthnot, our local MP, who complimented the staff on the organization and hard work that had gone into making the event such a success.

Residents and staff had contributed to the stalls which included very popular hand-made cards, plants and cuttings, home baked cakes and a generous raffle and tombola with items donated by suppliers as well as friends and families. Bargains were to be had at the auction where a day’s landscaping consultancy drew a lot of interest and the biggest bid of the day, helping to raise £550.

Local entertainment was provided by dancers from Dance Focus Academy and the Crondall Handbell Ringers as well as plenty of fun for the children with a bouncy castle, local farm animals, lucky dip, and face painting .

The money raised will go towards supporting the Alzheimers Café which helps local families who have relatives living with dementia. A contribution will also go towards supporting work in Jogimara Village in West Nepal.
