It was a glorious early June evening when we enjoyed our first staff party at Farnham Castle. What a fantastic venue! Outdoor games proved popular on the lawns overlooking the rooftops of the town while a delicious hog roast was cooking nearby.
Inside the Great Hall we had a quiz posted around the room. Everyone took part as teams for each home. Final marking showed that the Woodlands team had narrowly beaten Hill Brow and were awarded the Woodhill Trophy which now takes pride of place in their office. It will be hotly contested again next year and the winning team will determine the form of contest.
A delicious supper was enjoyed by all and split into two sittings so that all members of staff could attend and enjoy the evening.
The occasion was first of all a celebration that we had won our planning appeal to build the new home and also a special thank you to all the staff for the hard work they had put into being awarded an Excellent 3 star status for both homes by the CQC, our regulatory body. Furthermore, both homes had recently gained Excellent status with their local Environmental Health inspections.
