Charities
In 2011 friends of Woodlands and Hill Brow set up a charity. This charity is called Families Supporting Care, aims to help elderly people in different ways. Where possible it will help support Residents whose funds diminish during their stay as well as supporting the local Alzheimers Cafe, the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and other elderly charities.
The Trustees have all had a connection with us at some time or other. The Secretaries Treasurer, Reg Blaver, had his mother and father-in-law at Hill Brow; Eddie Anstey’s daughter worked with us at Woodlands for over 12 years; Sarah Garner, whose father was at Hill Brow and Justin Henry whose Grandmother was at Hill Brow. It is the Trustees who will decide how the funds are allocated.
The friends of Woodlands and Hill Brow are always looking for volunteers to help organise and support activities, such as a secretary and fundraisers. Fundraising is an on-going commitment and funds raised from the cafe at Hill House and from events held in the homes is supplemented by a regular donation from Alison Lee.
