FAQs
Do you use agency staff?
No. We have never used and will never use agency staff. We pride ourselves on our regular team of qualified staff. We run regular training courses and have accredited teachers for the following subjects: First Aid, Food Hygiene, Abuse, Infection Control, Medication, Dementia, Manual Dandling and Mental Capacity. NVQ assessors are part of the team as well. All members of staff are NVQ qualified or in the progress of achieving their qualification.
Our Managers have their Registered Managers Award and one is currently studying for her BSc in Dementia Studies. Mrs Lee, the owner, is a qualified nurse and has worked extensively with old people and those with dementia. We were awarded Investors in People status in January 2007 and we continue to work hard to maintain and improve our grade.
What ratings have your homes achieved?
We have achieved the two top ratings on our most recent inspections. Hill Brow and Woodlands have both been rated as Excellent by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Residents and relatives are able to get as involved as they wish with the running and management of the homes.
What happens if my relative's health deteriorates?
When a resident moves in, our ethos is to look after that resident for the rest of their life. We do require that new residents are low dependency when they move in. There are a further two levels of dependency which we rate according to the amount of additional time needed to manage their care plan.
We never like to see our residents move on, however if they should require specialist nursing care or dementia care, we have a specialist Nursing and Dementia home within the grounds of Hill Brow. The Staff rotate and systems are across all homes, to help the move of a Resident.
